Essential
This class is aimed at those new to pilates, or those with any back, neck, joint or any other physical issues. The five basic principles are explained and worked through. The essential exercises are worked through over the term. Modifications are given where necessary, and clients are encouraged to work to any physical limitations. Small equipment is used to provide any necessary modifications, or to add challenges. The focus is on core strength to provide protection to the lumbar area of the back, and provide stability through the pelvis and shoulder girdle. Classes will vary from week to week, and some workouts will include the Flex-Band®, Fitness Circle® or stability ball.
Intermediate
This class is aimed at those with some experience of pilates, or those wishing a more demanding workout ( as long as clients know the essential exercises.) Essential exercises are worked through with modifications to bring them up a level, combined with additional intermediate exercises. Again Flex-Band®, Fitness Circle® and stability ball workouts are incorporated into the term. The STOTT PILATES® focus remains the same throughout all workouts.
STOTT PILATES® Reformer
The reformer is a piece of Pilates equipment enabling the facilitation of Pilates exercises incorporating a moving carriage, pulleys and springs to create tension. The focus is on leg and foot work, arm, back and core strength. This class is only available on a 1-1 basis. |
